Go Skate Day 2009

June 23rd, 2009

“What is Go Skateboarding Day?

On June 21, 2009, skateboarders around the globe [celebrated] the pure exhilaration, creativity, and spirit of one of the most infuential activities in the world by blowing off all other obligations to go skateboarding!”

the one thing this weekend in DC that i knew nothing about. i gotta get up on it. hopefully it will happen again next year. it seems very surreal to see hundreds of skateboarders wheeling through DC.  watch the video. i’m sure you’ll love it. xoxo….little girl…

There’s Something About a Church

June 21st, 2009

bmore church

i love the architecture of old churches. sometimes it’s not even the whole building, but the minor details in the building. a few weeks ago, alex and i were walking through bmore and decided to take a sitting break out of the sun. the first place we found was this church. the whole building was beautiful, but i loved the crosses in the doors.

maybe i’ll start making every sunday ‘vintage church day’.

Travis McCoy: The Unbeaten Track…

June 19th, 2009

so, im not gonna lie…i started checking in on travis mccoys blog about a year ago mainly because 1) i think he’s a hot tomale, and 2) he always had good music referrals :)

since then, i’ve kept up with his blog every now and then. i decided to check in about a week ago and found that he is involved with with mtv and the staying-alive foundation working on ‘the unbeaten track’:

“This summer Travis McCoy, front man of Gym Class Heroes and Staying Alive Foundation Ambassador, is embarking on an epic, life changing adventure.
This adventure will see him travel to South Africa, Philippines and India, to meet with young people who are running remarkable grass-roots HIV and AIDS awareness projects – all of which are supported by the Staying Alive Foundation – MTV’s AIDS charity.”

i saw this pic today and immediately loved it. i love how the kid is looking at the other kid like, “You see this!! I got my finger through his ear!” lol. check it out. it’s nice to see people doing more with themselves then just living and breathing in air. no matter whether you’re a celebrity or not, rich or broke, we should all find some way of giving back…xoxo…little girl…

Jessica Louise

June 17th, 2009

there is something oddly intriguing about your everyday scene kid. the hot topic trends never really caught on to me, but i can’t front….i do like jessica louise. her style is so fun and carefree. though it’s prolly typical hot topic themed clothing, it’s also has a “take it or leave it” approach to it. i dig the style…it’s fun and fun makes me happy. plus her website is funky….enjoy :)

The Antique Man: Fells Point, Baltimore, MD

June 17th, 2009

a couple weekends ago, my boyfriend and i were chillin’ at his house and decided that it was entirely too gorgeous outside to sit in. since he lives about 15 mins outside of bmore, we took a trip into the city to walk around and see the sites. among all the sites in bmore, we found the most awesome store in one of my favorite neighborhoods, fells point.

the couple who owned it are the most awesome people. super nice and willing to show you around to exactly what you need as long as you’re willing to put in the time to to search. among the amazine buys i found, i found the necklace below. and guess how much i got it for suckers…1 bean…yuppers…one whole dollar!!! INSANITY CALAMITY!!!!

enough typing…next time you’re in bmore, drop by. for now, check out the site at www.theantiquemanltd.com
