When Life Hands You Lemons, Make….

lately, life has been handing me a TON of lemons. so many lemons, that i could set up a lemon stand every weekend for the rest of the year! okay…im exaggerating. 
in the midst of planning two events (launch party and block party www.littlesshop.com/events), dealing with a plethora of personalities, and getting the shop up and rolling online, i’ve been handed a few lemons here and there. im having faith, i am a firm believer that all things happen for a reason; even if that reason isn’t immediately apparent or make sense, there is a purpose. i’ve learned a lot through collecting these lemons of life and one of those things is that if i don’t start making lemonade out of them quick, they’ll spoil and i’ll be left with hard feelings and rotten lemons.

Little Back to School Block Party

some of you may know that after the OFFICIAL LITTLE LAUNCH PARTY on thursday, august 13th at tsunami, on saturday, august 15th at Asbury United Methodist Church in annapolis, md, we will be throwing our annual LITTLE BACK TO SCHOOL BLOCK PARTY.
we’ve teamed up with Merge Business Development Systems, Inc. in an effort to throw an amazing event for kids ages 4-14 and gift them with FREE SCHOOL SUPPLIES.
though there are similar events going on and about town, i know that this one will stand apart from the rest. how? you’ll have to find out for yourself.

i was poking around one of my favorite blogs ReadysetDC and found what looked like a happening store opening on 14th Street in NW D.C.
being one of my boyfriends and i’s favorite spots to hang out, we decided to drive in and give it a look-see. what we found was inspiring and magnificent. located on the second floor if 1843 14th street, we found a cozy shop with all the comfort of a city living room with a couch, small table and exposed brick.
vintage clothing, sake in lime green cups, dj spinning, awesome merch, and friendly faces. needless to say i was happy.

who doesn’t love receiving packages from Japan? i do…
via my MYSPACE page i found Caboose Recordings. i’ve been listening to their bands for weeks now and am absolutely in love with Pasqua. we made a deal; i send them t-shirts and they send me hardcore cd’s. i have some stuff cooking in the kitchen for them. can’t wait to deliver the goods. there is nothing like a good party; good music, good people, chill environment and just good ol’ fun. friday night, my hip hop show crew (my boyriend, tre, and i) went to our third True School party as a group and as usual, it was OFF THE HOOK!!!! do people say that anymore? i do!
anywho, if you don’t know anything about True School, you need to check it out. it’s a collective effort to bring the best in hip-hop (underground) and 90′s r&b to your town, put together by some of the best dj’s and producers hip hop has to offer, Cuzzin B, 9th Wonder, etc…..

Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland

okay, as if tim burton hasn’t already outdone himself with EVERY movie he has ever made, he takes it one step further and recreates Alice in Wonderland. PERFECTION! and of course, in true Tim Burton style, he starts Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter in it, because it’s only right.
