working from my home office today feels so good! i still have my pajamas on and am still being productive. there are two more pluses to being home working; being able to make pancakes in the middle of the day and my amazing itunes collection (partially in thanks to my awesome friends with amazing taste in music).

Are there any tips you can offer aspiring entrepreneurs to help make their journey a bit easier?
“There are three things that can make the journey easier. PLANNING. I think planning is so key. Think through your business, write a business plan, and then go. I think the more you can teach yourself before you start the better off you’re going to be as you’ll be better prepared for the obstacles you’re going to face. We planned, but not as good as we should have. Our growing pains were… well, painful. PASSION. Being passionate about your idea is so key, as its going to get you through the down times. Entrepreneurship can be a rollercoaster ride of emotions, and the passion for what you’re doing will drive you forward at all times. PEOPLE. Surround yourself with a great team of people. Its one of the best pieces of advice out there. Having smart, motivated people will really push a business forward better than anything else can. Im very thankful for the Jackthreads team, and they are a big part of what keeps me motivated on a daily basis.”

i discovered The Noisettes for myself a few years ago and fell in love immediately. the sound was so good. it made me want to jump up and down and dance around my house; actually, i think i did!
it also doesn’t hurt that the lead singer Shingai Shoniwa has the most amazing hair! she has certainly become one of my hair inspirations. my favorite song is The Count of Monte Christo. i hope you end up loving it as much as i do. that is…if you don’t already do.

today was one of those days. everything seemed crappy and there was no escaping it. i came home and knew exactly what i needed…mos def and talib kweli. today, i can relate to both of these songs and am listening to them right now. ‘Umi Says’ took me to a whole other place and ‘Get By’ spoke right to me.
there is something about a good song that can remind you of a place or a time in your life. both of these songs remind me of high school and college. driving around with my best friend listening to Umi Says or bumping Get By in my room after class.
anywho…enjoy both songs…
