Rapsody: Thank H.E.R. Now

i have had the privilege to meet a lot of different artists that i respect; painters, sculptors, musicians, rappers, producers, videographers, photographers, etc. i unfortunately have not always been too happy with the real personality of some of these people. i have met and had encounters with people i’ve looked up to my whole life, that have turned out to be big doody-heads!!! BIG!

someone once said not to meet your heroes because you’ll be disappointed. this person couldn’t have met 9th Wonder and the talents on his label. i grew a love for 9th Wonder through my husband. when we started dating there was no doubt about his love for hip-hop; it was so strong it made me revisit my love for it. early on, he was more about the producer than the rapper. he loved Prem and Pete Rock and when he found 9th, he was immediately added to that list.

we have had to great opportunity to meet these people; almost the whole It’s a Wonderful World Music Group and everyone of them is amazing.

i used Rapsody as an example tonight talking to one of my friends. We were talking about having a hard time appreciating and respecting people for what they have when they didn’t work for it. in watching the ustreams, following the tweets and downloading the mixtapes, there is no doubt that Rapsody has been BUSTIN’ HER ASS!!! always consistently great and getting greater. being able to meet her was the cherry on top because she is just as much an amazing person as she is an MC. i can not only enjoy her music as someone who is truly in love with their craft, but i can appreciate the hard work behind it and the genuine nature that goes into her records.

greatness comes from great leaders and IWWMG and Jamla have soldiers that reflect their general.
