LITTLE is Growing Up!!!!

LITTLE by Darin Michelle grew from inspiration. I was inspired by Johnny Cupcakes, The Hundreds, Benny Gold and many more! I started this project for fun and couldn’t have imagined that it would grow the way it did in the last four years! I spent the last year gaining new inspiration, traveling, getting feedback about my brand and rediscovering the artist within me. My passions and inspirations grew!

Thanks to my current Indiegogo campaign, I was able to raise $1,200 to go towards expanding my brand into a brand that gives back. I want to give to non-profits and charities that I love through my business. They work so hard at what they do and I want to show them how much my friends, customers and I appreciate them by giving a portion of my profits to them. While creating new pieces and a new look for this transition, I asked myself, “What would LITTLE look like grown up?” So, of course, I started working towards what that looked like. In the process, I got new inspiration, a new muse and a new focus!

I developed a concept called 19FIFTYTHREE. An accessory and custom print brand inspired by my mom (yup, you Cheryl!). Like my mother, the style is a little bohemian and a little rock and roll! Eight dollars of every purchase will go towards a different charity or non-profit every month! Creating this brand and concept was beyond joyful! I’ve known my muse since I was born (literally!) and the inspiration came easy!

LITTLE by Darin Michelle has been a HUGE part of my life for almost 4 years! So much fun and so many new friendships have come out of this brand! To say that LITTLE is going out of business or retiring would be too sad! LITTLE by Darin Michelle is growing up! It’s still me, creating! 19FIFTYTHREE will carry the same spirit and positive mentality that LITTLE has for almost 4 years!

Our virtual doors will be open for another few weeks! I’ve cleaned up the online shop and updated the inventory! There’s not a ton, but there is still some left and once it’s gone, it’s really gone!

I am just getting back on track after the new year! There is so much going on and so much planning happening. There are a lot of changes coming down the road…all good changes! This past month has been a whirlwind!! Thanks to your support, LITTLE by Darin Michelle raised $1,202 that will go directly to the growth and production of this small business! All through the power of www.indiegogo.com

Through this process, I learned a lot, made a lot of plans and made some changes. Though I didn’t reach my goal of $10K, LITTLE now has $1,202 more than it did 30 days ago! All thanks to you all! Thank you for telling your friends, forwarding emails and being overall awesome!!!

Oh, What a Year!

2012 has been full of ups and downs, highs and lows and everything in between. For LITTLE, 2012 has been a year about connections; meeting new people, gaining new family and finding that push from within to grow more in 2013. There are so many things planned for the new year; the largest being LITTLE creating a sense of conscious consumerism by giving 20% of all profit to chosen non-profits through out the year. Many of you have already been apart of this growth by supporting the LITTLE by Darin Michelle Indiegogo Campaign. <<< check it out!

Have Yourself a Merry LITTLE Christmas!

Last week, I wasn’t in the Christmas spirit at all! I was allowing life to overwhelm me and take away all my hope for an awesome Christmas and an even more awesome New Year! Then I realized that isn’t what God wants of us or our lives. I made a conscious decision to STRAIGHTEN UP AND FLY RIGHT!!!! lol. I’m happy to say that I found my Christmas spirit and even have on my Christmas onesie! Yes, it has feet!

So, I encourage you to shake off the burdens of life for a couple days, take a few deep breathes (5 is perfect) and get in the spirit. It doesn’t have to be the Christmas spirit, but a better spirit that what you may have been in, and if you have already been in the spirit, rub it off on someone else.

I love this dog! He makes me happy!

“Sometimes your dreams need a little editing and an extra push”

That is the opening line to my Indiegogo Project video. That has been the saying for this year. Never get too comfortable, never get too complacent. My vision for LITTLE by Darin Michelle is expanding into a streetwear brand that gives back by creating projects, inspired by non-profits, that give a portion of it’s profits back to where the inspiration came from. This will help fund and bring awareness to up and coming non-profits. For the past year, I’ve been pushing the message Dream Big, Laugh Loud. While those are encouraging, I felt like there was a more serious call to action missing: Give Back.

Our lives are about so much more than dreaming and laughing for ourselves. There was something missing in this feel good message. Which leads us to the LITTLE Indiegogo Project. Your contribution to this project will help LITTLE expand into a company that connects with non-profits and helps them gain awareness and funds through clothing.
